SCHERERVILLE FAÇADE PROGRAM

SCHERERVILLE, IN

The Schererville Façade Improvement Program was developed to encourage revitalization in Downtown Schererville and its vicinity. The Arsh Group was instrumental in developing guidelines and strategies for rehabilitating and enhancing Schererville’s Downtown, as well as defining qualification standards for approved work. Included in this program are strategies and prototypes for the enhancement of the public spaces in the district. The program provides incentives and grant matches for eligible work in the district, and defines appropriate standards and qualifications for such assistance. Inspired by the regulations proposed in the Downtown Overlay District zoning regulations, this report goes one step further to better define and clarify the preferred character of the Downtown district through additional prototype drawings and more comprehensive revitalization guidelines.
