In 2013, the Lake Village American Legion proceeded with plans to develop a veterans memorial to honor the village’s war veterans and provide a place for veterans memorial services. The initial phase of the memorial project is centered around a custom-designed granite monument in a circular plaza, with a new brick pathway providing access to the memorial site. A time capsule was also installed with artifacts to be opened in 2063. Future phases will add benches, enhanced landscaping, and raised planters to provide additional seating and visual enhancement.
